Francisco Córdova, MD, is an attentive physician, fluent in English and Spanish, with deep roots in Arizona’s community. His years of experience caring for older adults have given him a thoughtful, practical understanding of what patients need to stay healthy and independent. He embodies the warm, patient-centered approach that characterizes Suvida’s primary care services.
Dr. Córdova holds a medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine and has a background in psychology and zoology from Arizona State University. His professional journey includes roles as a hospitalist, an internal medicine private practitioner, and an associate medical director in hospice and palliative care. That experience has given him expertise in end-of-life care and pain management, along with a special interest in herbal and nontraditional treatments. He is also actively involved in community outreach and education through the Arizona Latin Medical Association (ALMA).
For Dr. Córdova, keeping patients as active as they can be and preventing problems before they begin is paramount. He values that, at Suvida, doctors have the time to listen closely to each patient without rushing and can personalize treatment to cultural needs as well as medical ones. A saying he cites captures this approach: “It’s more important to know what kind of person has the disease than what kind of disease the person has.”
