Ernesto A. González, MD, is a seasoned physician with more than two decades of experience providing comprehensive primary and urgent care. Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. González believes that listening to and learning from his patients is an essential part of delivering high-quality care. His compassionate, patient-centered approach supports continuity, prevention, and the overall well-being of those he serves.
Education and experience:
- Over 20 years of experience practicing medicine in community clinics, volunteer clinics, private practice, urgent care settings, and multidisciplinary environments.
- Completed his Family Medicine residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio / McAllen, where he served as Chief Resident.
- Earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
- Holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from The University of Texas at Austin, graduating cum laude.
- Provided primary and urgent care as physician at a multispecialty group practice in Austin.
- Served as Lead Physician at Seton Kozmetsky Community Clinic and held board membership with Seton Medical Group.
- Has extensive experience caring for Hispanic communities throughout Texas.
Dr. González enjoys getting to know patients and their families on a personal level and believes healthcare professionals can learn many life lessons from their patients. Outside of work, he enjoys road and mountain biking, reading, traveling with his family, and walking the dogs with his wife.
