Enrique E. Acosta, MD, is a compassionate physician dedicated to delivering thoughtful, patient-centered care. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, Dr. Acosta has extensive experience serving the Hispanic community, with a focus on improving the quality of life of his patients and their families. He values clear communication and meaningful connection as essential elements of high-quality care.
Education and experience:
- Double Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
- Earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.
- Completed a Nephrology Fellowship at the Methodist Health System in Dallas, Texas.
- Completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
- Served as a nephrologist in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and in Puerto Rico, treating acute kidney disease, chronic kidney disease, and End-Stage Renal Disease.
- Served as the Interim Medical Director at Fresenius Kidney Care dialysis unit in South Dallas.
For Dr. Acosta, the most rewarding aspect of medicine is building trust over time and making a lasting impact on his patients’ health and well-being. He believes that continuity of care allows for small, consistent interventions to result in meaningful long-term outcomes. During his practice, he finds Suvida’s emphasis on patient-centered care closely aligned with his own professional values. Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf and tennis.
